Kathmandu
Kathmandu is a remarkable blend of ancient heritage and living culture, with seven UNESCO World Heritage monument zones spread across a valley roughly 20 kilometres wide. As the main gateway for travellers arriving in Nepal, the city has a history of continuous settlement dating back to at least the 2nd century BC.
Annapurna Region
The Annapurna Region is one of Nepal’s most diverse trekking destinations, centred around the spectacular Annapurna mountain range. Annapurna I made mountaineering history in 1950 as the first 8,000-metre peak to be successfully climbed. Today, the region is best known for the Annapurna Circuit and Annapurna Base Camp treks, where the landscape changes dramatically from high-altitude valleys and dry mountain terrain around Thorong La to lush, subtropical surroundings at lower elevations.
