Note: A domestic flight has been arranged for a more expedient transfer. However, a land transfer can be arranged upon request.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be received by a Prawaha Tours & Travels representative at the airport. After collecting your baggage, you will be transported to your hotel.

Day 2 Visit Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa

After breakfast, your day begins with a walk to Pashupathinath Temple. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most sacred pilgrimage site for the Hindu people. The temple complex consists of several shrines and ashrams. 

Then you will visit Boudhanath Stupa located in the eastern part of Kathmandu. It is considered one of the largest stupas in the world. Here, you will find narrow streets and alleys lined with shops selling Tibetan souvenirs, prayer flags and thankas. 

The stupa is not only a religious site but also a cultural hub for the local Tibetan community. Visitors can watch monks perform traditional rituals and chants or attend a meditation class at one of the many meditation centers located around the stupa. 

After a full day of sightseeing in Kathmandu, you will be brought back to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3 Fly to Bhairahawa and drive to Lumbini

After breakfast at the hotel, your day begins with a domestic flight to Bhairahawa. The flight can last about 30 minutes and upon arrival in Bhairahawa, you will be transported by road to Lumbini, approximately 30 minutes away. Lumbini, popularly known as the birthplace of the Buddha, is a spiritual and sacred place. 

After you check-in at your hotel, you can go for a walk around town and explore the local markets in the evening

Day 4 Sightseeing in Lumbini

After breakfast, your day begins with an exciting rickshaw ride to visit the Lumbini Garden. Inside this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will come across various pagoda-styled temples and monasteries built by various countries like Thailand, China, Myanmar, Mongolia, Vietnam, etc.

The most important temple on the premise, The Maya Devi temple, enshrines the traditional location of Buddha’s birth. It is one of the major attractions of Lumbini.

The temple is a white building that protects the exact spot of Buddha’s birth which is denoted by a marker stone. The Bodhi tree is the tree where Maya Devi rested in the shade while she was traveling. It was there that she went into labor and took a ritual dip in the nearby pond which is believed to be the place where Buddha took his first bath too.

After a full day of sightseeing in Lumbini, you will be brought back to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Day 5 Fly to Pokhara

After a leisurely breakfast, you will be driven back to Bharatpur airport with the Lodge crew and fly to Pokhara which can take around 20 minutes. Upon arrival at Pokhara Domestic Airport, you will be received by a hotel representative at the airport and driven to the Resort. After some rest and relaxation, you can go for some sightseeing. You will begin your sightseeing by visiting the International Mountain Museum and later go boating at Pewa Lake. 

Later you will visit Peace Pagoda for a Sunset view. Then return to the resort for dinner and relaxation.

Day 6 In Pokhara, view the sunrise at Sarangkot and drive to Begnas Taal.

Your day begins with an early morning drive to Sarangkot for sunrise with a panoramic view of the Annapurna Range including the Machhapuchhare and Dhaulagiri. This drive can take around 27 minutes. After enjoying a beautiful scenic view, you will have your breakfast. Later you will be driven to Begnas Taal to do some boating and have lunch. This drive can take around 40 minutes.

Then you will be taken back to Pokhara and stroll around Lakeside in the evening.

Day 7 Fly to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will be transported to the airport for your flight back to Kathmandu which can take about 25 minutes. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transported to the hotel. In the evening, you will be driven to Patan Durbar Square which can take around 30 minutes. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Patan Durbar Square is a marvel of Newari architecture and arts. The Patan Museum is also located within one of the old residential courts of the Royal Family. The museum houses some of the most important religious, historical and sacred arts of Nepal.

Then you will be brought back to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Day 8 Visit Swayambhu and Kathmandu Durbar Square

After breakfast, your day begins with a trip to Swayambhunath Stupa which is also known as the Monkey Temple. It is located on a hill west of Kathmandu. The stupa is surrounded by prayer flags, small shrines and hundreds of monkeys. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Kathmandu city. Then you will take a trip to Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is in the heart of the old city. The square is home to several temples and palaces, including the Hanuman Dhoka Palace and the Kumari Ghar (the home of the Living Goddess). Take an exciting rickshaw ride through the narrow busy streets of spice and vegetable market to reach Thamel which is a popular tourist hub. Here, you can spend some time shopping and have lunch. 

After a full day of sightseeing, you will be brought back to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Day 9 International Departure

After breakfast, you will be transported to the international airport for your outbound flight based on your flight time schedule.
